For the first time ever
Join us at the Angels Rising Dinner in the Cathedral, an entirely new and unique dinner event on the Western Australian social calendar.
The first of its kind to be held in and around the majestic St George’s Cathedral, this exclusive summer soiree will be unlike anything you have experienced at a charity event in the past.
Begin by soaking up the fine summer evening under the stars, on the lush lawn of Cathedral Square in conjunction with COMO The Treasury, enjoying a pop-up village of food and champagne. Highlights from the pop-up village include fresh, exquisite oysters from the Willie Creek Pearls Oyster Bar plus a Poke Bar and Hong Kong BBQ Station.
Enter the spectacularly transformed Cathedral and indulge in fine dining brought to you by Executive Chef Chris Taylor, of Fraser’s, King’s Park fame, paired with premium beers from Gage Roads, fine wines from Ferngrove and sparkling wine.
You will be treated to sensational entertainment from Australia’s Got Talent finalist Clara Helms, five-time winners of the Indigenous Category for the WA Music Industry Awards Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse, the All Saints choir, and jazz, grooves and moves brought to you by Cathrine Summers, Summer Groove, and Summers Soul.
There’ll be plenty of opportunities to support Anglicare WA’s Young Hearts counselling service for children suffering from the horrors of family and domestic violence, with major raffle prizes and highly desirable auction items up for grabs, and a few surprises. REIWA Award winning auctioneer, Peter Clements, from Mint Real Estate in Claremont will be on hand to ensure that the bidding is fast, furious and fun.
Come dressed to impress in your summer finery – while Black-Tie is not a prerequisite, a dickie bow and splash of sequins is certainly encouraged!
This uniquely Western Australian event promises a night not to be missed, plus the opportunity to make a significant difference in our community by supporting Anglicare WA’s work with vulnerable children.
Strictly limited tickets are now available. Don’t miss out

Entertainment
Expect plenty of entertainment and spellbinding voices at Angels Rising, within the unique acoustics of the vaulted ceilings of St George’s Cathedral.
Be wowed by Perth’s own internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Clara Helms’ (Australian’s Got Talent Finalist) spellbinding voice.
Witness Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse (2017 West Australian of the Year Awards, and reigning five-time winners of the Indigenous Category for the WA Music Industry Awards), as Gina’s incredible voice and Guy’s skilful guitar work fill the space with music within the vaults of the cathedral, on the lands of their ancestors.
Enjoy the sultry sounds of jazz brought to you by Cathrine Summers on the lawn, and a laidback groove over dinner to her ensemble Summer Groove.
We are also fortunate to be hosting an incredible performance by the All Saints Choir in the Cathedral—and a few surprises!
Late into the night beneath the towering arches, Cathrine Summers will be back with Summers Soul to help you kick up your heels as we party the night away on the dance floor.
The evening promises a night of unforgettable fun.
Mending young hearts
Anglicare WA child trauma services put young people first, helping those most vulnerable in our community build healthy relationships, and develop skills to thrive in the future.
The Young Hearts program is a domestic violence counselling service for children, dedicated to breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence, and it depends entirely on philanthropic funding.
In feeling unsafe at home, children and young people caught in the trauma of domestic violence can feel unsafe in general. They may experience isolation, mistrust, and overwhelming feelings of anger, helplessness and fear.
The impact of family violence on children and families involved is bad enough, but the knock-on effects damage our society as a whole. Young Hearts reaches out to these vulnerable children before they’re so profoundly affected that they too inflict violence, in the schoolyard, at home, or in their own families later in life.
The program provides free counselling in a safe and supportive environment for children up to 18 years of age, and it’s been very much in demand. It is recommended by The Family Court of Western Australia, the Department for Child Protection, WA Police, schools, hospitals and community organisations.
FINANCIAL CRISIS
With no government assistance and limited corporate and philanthropic input, Young Hearts is struggling to survive.
On 1 July 2016 the Mandurah clinic was closed and Rockingham was cut to one part-time (three days per week) employee. All group sessions are currently cancelled.
Waiting lists for an appointment are now more than six months. Our partners and those who recommend the program struggle to decide where to direct at-risk youth. Court orders from the Family Court of WA to attend Young Hearts have been adversely affected by the long waiting list.
With enough funding our goal is to operate full-time in Rockingham and Mandurah, with counselling appointments five days per week and group programs every school term.
Without this funding, Young Hearts is in danger of closing.
Your support of Anglicare WA and Angels Rising will make a real difference to the lives of future generations. Watch our video about Young Hearts to learn more.

Helping people rise
Anglicare WA provides 85 different service types in almost 50 locations across WA, and sadly our services are in ever higher demand. We continually innovate to deliver more from our existing funding, but with so many people in need, financial support from business and the community is vital. Our work is about being there when people are struggling, and walking beside them as they rise above tough times. To whatever degree you’re able to help, we thank you.
